Family-to-Family is a free 8-week course for family members and caregivers of individuals with a severe mental illness. It is designed to facilitate a better understanding of mental illness and to increase coping and advocacy skills.

The class is taught by two NAMI-trained volunteers who have been there. It includes presentations, discussion, interactive exercises, and a guest speaker.

A new Family-to-Family class is coming in January!

Please contact Susan McDowell at 720-535-6225 for more information and to register for the class.

NAMI Aurora also offers an educational program called Caminantes. It is specially designed to meet the cultural and linguistic needs of our Latino families in Aurora.

Caminantes is conducted in Spanish with attention placed on the influence of cultural values and special needs of Latino families.

The content of this educational program consists of  three 2 hour sessions. Families completing this program leave with an overview of the common mental health disorders, treatment, and services offered in Colorado.

Contact us at NAMIAurora@namiaurora.org for more information on Caminantes.
